Chris O'Dowd and Paul Feig trolled people by teasing an all-female remake of Back To The Future

April Fools!

PAUL FEIG HAS directed some very funny films over the years – Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat, to name but a few.

Last year, he endured endless abuse for having the gall to remake Ghostbusters with a quartet of funny women. Despite this, the film received favourable reviews and earned nearly $230 million at the box office, demonstrating the appetite for female-led blockbusters.

Yesterday Feig decided to troll this detractors by teasing yet another all-girl remake. For the day that was in it, you know yourself.

Introducing gender-swapped Back To The Future, the film you never knew you wanted and now simply must have.

Imagine Kate McKinnon as Doc! The dream, tbh.

People were like, “Good one, but make this happen, pls.”

Even if there’s potential for some really icky plotlines.

Our own Chris O’Dowd even offered to play Lorraine.

A perfect fit.

While it might seem a little far-fetched, gender-swapped reboots are all the rage in Hollywood right now.

An all-female reboot of the Ocean’s franchise is due in cinemas next summer and a gender-flipped remake of Splash starring Channing Tatum and Jillian Bell is currently in production.

Maybe this Back To The Future thing isn’t so wild after all…
